Bar Council of India had been organising National Level Moot Court Competitions for 26 times till 2011 when it switched to a Competition on an International level. However Bar Council has again switched back to its normal mode of conducting this old and prestigious moot on national laws.
Bar Council of India was constituted under the Advocates Act, 1961 and celebrating its Golden Jubilee, it is conducting two National Moot Court Competitions at Nirma University, Ahmadabad and National Law University, Delhi. The 3rd moot in this series which was the 29th BCI Moot scheduled to take place in February at National Law University Jodhpur has been dropped due to NLUJ’s expression of regret to convene the event.
The Competition shall again take place in four rounds of competition with separate moot problem for each round. All teams registered with the Trust will participate in the first round. The teams will be arranged on the basis of lots drawn and grouped in pairs of two for determining who will contest against whom and for which side each team will argue. The Winner and Runner-up teams of the last 4 years shall be put in different groups for different rounds. The Moot Court competition will be held on ‘Knock–Out’ basis.based on four different Moot Problems.
