The Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) organises a national level Moot Court Competition in the memory of the founder of the ICRC - Henry Dunant every year.
The Regional Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition was initiated and org12anised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Regional Delegation, New Delhi, in collaboration with Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) in India during October 2005. In 2009 for the first time Regional rounds of the competition was organised outside India, in Dhaka.
In 2011 the regional rounds will be organised in Kathmandu in association with ICRC Delegation in Kathmandu. The regional Moot Court competition will follow national and regional competitions (as applicable) that will take place in each participating country. Winning teams from each of the respective countries will participate in the regional competition, which will be held in New Delhi, approximately one month after the completion of national level competitions. Winners of the regional moot court competition will represent South Asia in Asian Moot Court competition in Hong Kong.
In 2012 the regional rounds will be once again hosted by Bangladesh in association with ICRC Delegation in Dhaka.
The current moot problem revolves around Military Coup, Democracy, Opposition to Government, Military action against people.
